About Me
I am an Army ROTC Instructor and graduate student studying history at the University of Maine. I live with my girlfriend, Rachel and our two pets, the Madison-cat and a rambunctious new puppy named Darby. In my free time I enjoy running, hiking and reading with Rachel and cycling in the University forest that surrounds our home. I attended North Georgia College and State University and was commissioned an officer of Infantry and stationed at Fort Bragg. I served with the 325th Airborne Infantry (Lets Go). In December 2005 I was injured by an IED blast. It seemed that I was fine and I returned to duty. I did not recognize the problems associated until 2007 when I nearly passed out in a shopping mall (due to vertigo). It has been difficult for me to accept any lost capacity or even grasp the severity of my condition. I have come to realize that long duration physical challenges have helped me feel like myself again and given me knew hope. I am now running races for my own well being. I want to raise awareness of the struggles of Wounded Warriors and the power of resilience and determination.
